Why love it?
This coffee comes from CECANOR, straight from the northern Peruvian highlands. It is the result of the hard work of an amazing group of 701 women, whose green coffee beans are not only certified Fair-Trade and Organic, but are also certified by the Cafe Femenino® program - which means that when they’re not harvesting world-class coffee, they’re actively working on projects to improve their whole region! Currently, they have projects in the areas of Food Security, Gender Equity, and Respiratory Health. This space is simply too short to do justice to all the amazing work this program is doing, so please visit https://www.coffeecan.org/our-work/peru for more details!

In addition to the Fair-Trade, Organic, and Cafe Femenino® price premiums to the farmers, Ethos contributes an additional 5 cents per lb of green coffee purchased to the Cafe Femenino® Foundation, which funds the community projects (chosen by women in the Co-Op).

Why do we believe in this initiative? (1) Women get paid directly for their product, (2) get help acquiring legal title to the land they farm, and (3) have the opportunity to take on official leadership roles within their Cooperative and get a budget for projects to improve their community - for many, this is likely the very first time they have real decision-making power and a voice to shape their future!

Extremely versatile and delicious in a variety of methods! Medium roasts were our favorite, and accentuated the nuttiness and pleasantly sweet aftertaste. This one was also amazing as a single-origin Espresso!
