Bali is the newest addition to our “X Series" - a collection of unique, high-scoring, Beyond-Fair-Trade (i.e. prices to the farmer that exceed Fair-Trade premiums by at least 300%), and sustainably-grown coffees (this particular one is certified Shade Grown, Rainforest Alliance, and Organic), demanding top premiums.

Expect strong earthy undertones complemented by a pleasant fruit-forward profile that’s truly distinct and remarkably low-acidity. An exotic, warm, buttery, well-balanced cup experience that is sure to captivate earthy coffee fans and complexity-seekers alike.

Why love it?
Perhaps our most unique offering, this is an exceptional and rare Natural (a special coffee preparation that involves carefully fermenting the coffee pulp during the drying process) from the heart of Indonesia - the volcanic island of Bali, just East of Java. It was grown in the Kintamani Highlands, a large volcanic near Mount Agung, at an elevation between 4,300-5,600 ft. The use of pesticides is prohibited on Bali, so these coffee trees are planted among erythrina & albizia trees (which provide shade also also form symbiotic relationships with soil bacteria, which colonize their roots and fix atmospheric nitrogen - which “feeds” not just the colonized plants but also all others growing nearby!).

Shines in Pour-Overs and full-immersion methods (French Press, Syphon, Aeropress). A sophisticated, earthy yet fruity, Espresso shot.
