Get ready for an exquisite journey for your taste buds! An incredibly rich cup boasting sweet stone fruit notes, and delicate citrus undertones adding a layer of brightness— all balanced by a pleasant black tea-like finish.

It comes from the dedicated hands of Esmérita Vasquez's, and her farm “La Esperanza”, situated in Cajamarca, a Peruvian region known as a top-quality organic coffee producer. Despite facing challenges in terrain and transportation, including relying on mules to carry coffee down the mountainside, Esmerita's commitment to producing excellent coffee has enabled it to serve as her primary source of income. Her farm, spanning 4 hectares, cultivates primarily Caturra, with a small amount of Geisha. Esmerita employs consistent selective tree pruning and the 'Zoqueo' technique to maintain crop quality and enhance yield. Following a 15-year rotation, trees are dramatically cut back, stimulating new growth. She fertilizes with a mix of compost and guano from nearby fields, which contribute to sustainable farming practices.

Harvesting involved traditional processing methods, including selective handpicking, sorting, fermentation, and sun-drying on raised beds. The coffee ultimately reached the dry mill at Alpes Andinos in Jaen before it was carefully packaged for export through Yellow Roosters in Tampa FL, who kindly delivered it to our roastery in Lakeland!

GRIND GUIDE

Coarse | French Press, Cold Brew, Moka Pot (Percolator), Chemex (and any other slow-flowing Pour-Over methods)

Medium-fine | Drip (standard or programmable coffee makers), single-cup brewers (automatic or one-cup Pour-Over dripper), Aeropress.

We always recommend grinding your coffee fresh for the absolute best experience. Pre-grinding your coffee exposes more surface area to the air, which means faster aroma loss and faster de-gassing/staling. If you must buy ground, we highly recommend placing the whole bag (including packaging) inside an airtight container, and using/opening one bag at a time if possible.

WHY LOVE “CAJAMARCA”?
This is one more women-championing coffee that rewards excellence and brings you an incredible cup to begin your days Brewing Greatness! We hope you’ll love “Cajamarca” and enable us to support Esmerita for many years to come!
