M A R C A L A | Anaerobic Honey | Honduras

from $12.50

Dive into the delightful experience of our new, Organic Anaerobic Red Honey, and get ready for a symphony of ripe, juicy tropical flavors that will keep you coming back for more! Extremely versatile for both hot and cold brew applications, its velvety body perfectly balances the fruitiness and adds a layer of sophistication to the cup. This coffee is your passport to a coffee adventure like no other - we highly recommend you try it in all your favorite coffee methods!

Of course, it’s not just the flavor that makes this cup special. This coffee comes to us directly from Nelson Amador, who is a 5th generation coffee farmer. His journey to the US - where he initially came to learn English, and ended up starting his own coffee importing business, De La Finca, to support his family and other small coffee producers from his home country of Honduras - is truly inspirational. His vision to lift others through opportunity aligns perfectly with our Ethos, and we can’t wait to see how our partnership will lift up and transform the communities of farmers in Marcala and Comayagua.

GRIND GUIDE

Coarse | French Press, Cold Brew, Moka Pot (Percolator), Chemex (and any other slow-flowing Pour-Over methods)

Medium-fine | Drip (standard or programmable coffee makers), single-cup brewers (automatic or one-cup Pour-Over dripper), Aeropress.

We always recommend grinding your coffee fresh for the absolute best experience. Pre-grinding your coffee exposes more surface area to the air, which means faster aroma loss and faster de-gassing/staling. If you must buy ground, we highly recommend placing the whole bag (including packaging) inside an airtight container, and using/opening one bag at a time if possible.

WHY LOVE MARCALA?
This is an amazing small farmer success story that perfectly aligns with our mission to Brew Greatness. As a fifth generation coffee farmer, Nelson Raul Amador started De La Finca Coffee Importers in 2013 with the intention of supporting his family and other small coffee producers from his home country of Honduras. Through its quality price premiums, and direct trade partnerships, his producers receive more money for their hard work, and in turn can pay their pickers higher wages. He champions Organic, Bird Friendly certified coffees and also reinvests in his hometown through long-term school projects and initiatives, which help realize his long-term vision for sustainable, independent, thriving coffee communities.

Recommendations
Very versatile, we highly encourage you to try it on your favorite preparation method! This sweet and delicate honey particularly shines in Pour-Overs, makes a deliciously smooth Cold Brew, and is also wonderful on immersion methods (i.e. French Press, Mocha Pot, Syphon).
